Workshops

Our workshops are designed for children aged 10 – 15 with the goal of allowing them to develop new skills, build connections, confidence and of course have fun. Using the coding language ‘Scratch’ integrated with ‘Python’. Children can enjoy learning to code their robots within their teams, to allow them to create an advantage against their opponents.

What’s Involved?

Using the coding language ‘Scratch’ integrated with ‘Python’. Children , can enjoy learning to code their robots within their teams, to allow them to create an advantage against their opponents.

Programming

Using the program ‘Scratch’ is an excellent introduction to allow users to start to understand how coding languages work. DJI’s Robomasters program however, also allows the user to see their program in ‘Python’  - a recognised coding language used by many industries. As you child progresses through the workshops, they will take part in more advanced programs, using many different aspects of code, and the best bit is, they can gain the confidence and satisfaction of seeing their code working in real time on the robots.

Race

Not quite a standard race on a circuit, the robots automatically scan checkpoints while the driver evades obstacles and other robots. If that isn’t enough fun, if drivers find special checkpoints / powerups, they are given a special skill to be deployed either defensively or offensively. Think a ‘real life’ version of Mario Kart. With drivers view points automatically being streamed back to the rest of the teams, everyone is involved, allowing team mates to aid in tactics and of course encouragement!

Battle

In this mode, opponents are pitched together in a points-based battle scenario. It’s all verses all in a battle to the most points. Special checkpoints / powerups are available, but once a robot has lost all of its health points, the robot must find a revive check point to get back in the game. This is where teams coding comes into light. Who has the most effective program? The battles will tell.
